Brady Township, Lycoming County
COMPLETED: 2003
This project included the construction of a new wastewater collection system and a packaged wastewater treatment facility. The system was needed to serve approximately 40 homes and small businesses with contaminated wells and failing septic systems at the southeast end of Brady Township, along US Route 15 and Fritz Station Road.
A new 14,000 gallon per day wastewater treatment plant was purchased which provides conventional secondary treatment using the extended aeration process.
Work included a 537 Plan Update, design, bidding, and construction phase engineering. Bassett Engineering had a full-time construction inspector onsite at all times throughout construction. Permits included the NPDES, Water Quality Management Part II, Highway Occupancy, E&S Plan, and GP-4 and GP-5 Permits. A PENNVEST funding application was prepared and a loan was awarded. Two CDBG grants were awarded. One subdivision and fifteen easements were needed.
