Tunkhannock Township, Wyoming County
COMPLETED: 2021
Bassett Engineering designed, permitted, bid, and inspected the construction of the installation of a new single-span prestressed concrete bulb-tee bridge in Tunkhannock Township, Wyoming County. The preexisting 96-foot two-span steel I-beam bridge was replaced with a brand new 106-foot single-span, 22′ clear width prestressed concrete bulb-beam bridge. The bridge will offer significant geometric, hydraulic, and safety improvements for Fox Road. The substructure includes all cast-in-place concrete footings, keying into bedrock, abutments, cheekwalls, wingwalls, and safety wings. The bridge now passes the 500-year storm without over-topping. New roadway improvements include expanding to two 9-foot lanes, 2-foot shoulder, the road was raised and realigned, improved road drainage, and guide rails and signs were added and updated.
